Summary:
This week I mainly focus on:
1 The idea of a comedy show called performance art
2 Developing the idea for my performance art in MAAI Festival, which is throw a Mandarin Chinese stand-up comedy show and invite people from different language background to watch the show, by using translation app, they can experience the vulnerability of international students from other language background are facing when they just came to a place using unfamiliar language, because translation app can be not so accurate when it came to slangs and contents with different cultural-background. It is okay if they cannot fully understand the show, it is okay if they feel vulnerable and struggle to fake to laugh together to pretend they fit in when there are some mandarin speaker audiences can laugh out loud. The comedy show is not about comedy, it is about vulnerability.
